MTC Week 4- General Conference

Hey Everyone,

It's been another week. The highlight of this week was definitely General Conference.

There sure were a lot of changes this time. I'm very sad to see President Monson go, but I think President Nelson is going to be a fun dude. I remember liking Elder Gong's talks a lot in past years, and it's neat to see him become an Apostle.

I noticed a theme of the constant need for spiritual nourishment, and the importance of continually reorienting one's self with Christ. I'm probably projecting a little, but I guess that's how most things are.

I really liked Larry Y Wilson's story about the ensign who was guided by the spirit to save the ship in the storm. It was very cool. Ensign Blair reminded me of Nephi.

I also thought the quote Elder Renlund shared was very interesting; "The Blessed will say 'We have never lived anywhere except in Heaven'". I think it relates to the way the atonement helps us in our trials by changing us; making us stronger and better people. The idea that heaven is not an environment we might inhabit, but rather a state of being that comes with a completeness of that change is one that I think is really compelling. If we allow that change to work in us there is no suffering we can't trancend. And the idea that it could even work retroactively is very interesting. I'm not really sure what to make of that to be honest.

I also came up with a space-filling curve that seems to approach a serpinski triangle (see pictures below). I don't know if it actually would fill a serpinski triangle, and I have no idea how to go about proving that, but it kinda looks like it might. If anyone recognizes this fractal, let me know.

So overall, Conference was great. The rest of the week was okay too.

I hope everyone has a great week. Talk to you next time.

Your Friend,
Elder Wadsworth
